Russian soldier wounded in stabbing in Gyumri

A 22-year-old contract serviceman of the 102nd Russian military base stationed in Armenia’s Gyumri town was stabbed on Thursday.

The law enforcement bodies said the incident took place during an encounter at one of night clubs of the town.  The wounded soldier was transferred to hospital for surgery. Doctors assessed  the soldier’s condition as stable.

Criminal proceedings in the case have been instituted.
