The fifth member of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), Armen Bektashyan has submitted resignation, the press service of the council reported.
5 out of the 10 Supreme Judicial Council members have already stepped down. SCJ Chairman Gagik Harutyunyan tendered his resignation on May 24, while Gevorg Danielyan, Armen Khachatryan and Sergey Meghryan resigned as council members this month.
To note, the Supreme Judicial Council is an independent state body comprised of ten members. Five members of the Council are elected by the General Assembly of Judges, another five members — by the National Assembly.
