Armenian official launches petition to reject Istanbul Convention

Chairman of Armenia’s Chamber of Advocates Ara Zohrabyan has launched a petition on Change.org to reject the Istanbul Convention, after elaborating on the potential threats posed by the document in two long articles.

He shared the link of the petition on Facebook, urging all the interested users to fill in the required data and sign the petition.

“Opposing to any kind of violence and worrying that the Istanbul Convention, with its controversial concepts,  will not actually serve the purpose of preventing violence, but will jeopardize our national identity, we urge Armenia’s prime minister, the Constitutional Court and National Assembly to reject the ratification of the Istanbul Convention,” the petition says.
