Armenian president signs decree to dismiss NSS chief

President Armen Sarkissian of Armenia has signed a decree to officially dismiss Artur Vanetsyan as Director of the National Security Service (NSS).

The president signed the decree based on the prime minister’s proposal.

Vanetsyan stepped down as NSS Director on Monday.

In a statement announcing his resignation, he described his decision as 'the most preferable and justified' option to serve Armenia under the current circumstances.
