Armenian president sets constitutional referendum date

Armenian President Armen Sarkissian has signed a decree setting April 5 as the date for the country’s referendum to change the constitution.

The president signed the document guided by Article 206 of the Constitution.

The decree takes effect upon the moment of its publication.

The constitutional amendments proposed by the ruling My Step bloc would dismiss the Constitutional Court chairman and seven of its nine members.
