Armenia’s coronavirus cases climb to 235 as of March 24

Armenia has confirmed 41 new coronavirus infections as of 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, bringing the total number of cases to 235 in the country, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported.

Earlier Health Minister Arsen Torosyan said that the first coronavirus patient's wife, who had also contracted the virus, tested negative on Monday.

“She will undergo a second test tomorrow and will be discharged from the hospital if the result is negative,” the minister said.

In a live video on Monday night Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said more than 70 people put in a 14-day quarantine will undergo final coronavirus tests on Tuesday, adding there are grounds to think that most of them will test negative for the virus and be allowed to return home.

So far, two patients have recovered from the novel coronavirus in Armenia.
