72-year-old coronavirus patient dies in Yerevan hospital

A coronavirus patient has died at St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan, bringing the national death toll to 11.

The victim, identified as a 72-year-old man, had developed double pneumonia, Ministry of Health spokeswoman Alina Nikoghosyan said in a Facebook post.

“In addition, the man had underlying chronic health conditions, such as hypertension and prostate adenoma,” she wrote.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose by 16 to 937 in Armenia on Friday morning.
