Armenia reports 491 new coronavirus cases on October 1

Armenia has confirmed 491 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in a 24-hour period, bringing the national tally to 50,850 as of 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, the Ministry of Health reports.

218 more patients have recovered from the disease with the total number of recoveries now standing at 44,219.

The coronavirus death toll has increased by 4 to 963. The latest victims, aged between 56 to 80, had underlying chronic health conditions. Another person carrying the virus died from other causes in the past 24 hours.

The number of active cases is 5,370. As many as 296,327 tests have been performed in the country since the disease outbreak, the source said.
