Azerbaijan continues to use prohibited weapons against Artsakh’s civilian areas – Defense Army

The Azerbaijan forces continue to target peaceful civilian settlements of Artsakh, including the capital Stepanakert, using weapons banned under international humanitarian law, the Artsakh Defense Army said on Sunday.

“The Artsakh Defense Army is already delivering crushing blows to the most important military facilities located deep inside Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan bears responsibility for escalating tensions into open conflict,” it stressed.

In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions and numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including Stepanakert, the towns of Martuni, Martakert and Hadrut. Artsakh civilians were told to take shelter.

Both Armenia and Artsakh have declared martial law and a general mobilization.
