Assad calls Erdogan 'main instigator' in Nagorno-Karabakh

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of being the main instigator of the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh), speaking in an interview with Russia’s RIA news agency published on Tuesday, Reuters reported.

In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions, numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including the capital Stepanakert, the towns of Martuni, Martakert and Hadrut. Artsakh civilians were told to take shelter.

Both Armenia and Artsakh have declared martial law and a general mobilization.

Today, on October 6, ten days after the launch of hostilities, the Armenian Ministry of Defense said for the first time that the situation along the line of contact was relatively calm overnight.
