Stable but tense overnight situation reported in Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone

The situation remained stable but tense in the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict zone overnight, the Artsakh Defense Army said on Thursday morning.

The operational and tactical situation did not change significantly. In separate sections firefights and missile-artillery strikes continued, it said.

“At the moment, military operations have resumed in the northern and southern directions. The units of the Defense Army continue to be in control of the situation and suppress the activity of the adversary through their proficient actions,” the military said.

In the early morning of September 27, Azerbaijan launched a massive air and artillery attack on the Artsakh military positions, numerous civilian settlements and infrastructure in the country, including Stepanakert, the towns of Martuni, Martakert, Shushi and Hadrut. Artsakh civilians were told to take shelter.

Both Armenia and Artsakh have declared martial law and a general mobilization.
