Armenia reports record 1,465 new coronavirus cases on October 16

Armenia has reported a record one-day increase in coronavirus infections, with the total rising by 1,465 to 61,460 as of 11 a.m. Friday, October 16.

As the Health Ministry reports, 422 more patients have recovered from the disease with the total number of recoveries now standing at 47,541.

The coronavirus death toll has increased by 10 to 1,056. The latest victims were 60 (male), 76 (male), 83 (female), 68 (male), 86 (male), 86 (female), 93 (female), 73 (female), 60 (male) and 73 (female) years old. All had underlying chronic health conditions. Three other patients carrying the virus died from other causes in the past 24 hours.

The number of active cases is 12,549. As many as 340,116 tests have been performed in the country since the disease outbreak.
