Armenia reports record 1,540 new coronavirus cases on October 17

Armenia has reported a record one-day increase in coronavirus infections, with the total rising by 1,540 to 63,000 as of 11 a.m. Saturday, October 17.

As the Health Ministry reports, 384 more patients have recovered from the disease with the total number of recoveries now standing at 47,925.

The coronavirus death toll has increased by 11 to 1,067. The latest victims were 75 (female), 64 (male), 89 (male), 78 (female), 70 (female), 69 (male), 71 (male), 68 (male), 66 (female), 82 (female) and 73 (male) years old. All had underlying chronic health conditions.

The number of active cases is 13,694. As many as 344,053 tests have been performed in the country since the disease outbreak.
