Armenia’s Davit Chaloyan beats Azeri rival to advance to World Boxing Championships finals

Armenian boxer Davit Chaloyan defeated his Azerbaijani opponent Mahammad Abdullayev to reach the finals of the World Boxing Championships being held in Belgrade, Serbia from October 24 to November 6.

Chaloyan, fighting in the super heavyweight +92kg category, took a convincing 5-0 win over the Azerbaijani athlete in the semifinals on Thursday.

The final bout is scheduled for November 5.

Armenia’s Hovhannes Bachkov will compete in the semifinals later today.
