The President of the European Council to meet with Pashinyan, Aliyev

President of the European Council Charles Michel will hold meetings with leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan on December 14, TASS news agency reported, citing a high-level EU official. 

"The President of the European Council will hold meetings with NIkol Pashinyan and then with Ilham Aliyev. In the evening a trilateral meeting is planned tp be attended by both leaders," the official said. 

According to the source, the meeting is aimed at supporting the sides to establish direct contacts and normalize relations. "We are tirelessly working with Armenia and Azerbaijan to increase the trust between the sides based on the agreement of establishing a direct line between the defense ministers of the two countries," Charles Michel  said. It is noted that a statement will be issued as a result of the trilateral summit.
