Civic Consciousness head Narek Samsonyan released

Narek Samsonyan, head of the Civic Consciousness NGO and founder of AntiFake.am website, has been released.

The Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by judge Davit Arghamanyan, ordered his release on Thursday, ruling that Samsonyan's detention was unlawful.

Samsonyan was detained as part of a criminal investigation into infliction of “grave insult” on Tuesday. Charges were brought against him based on the complaint of Davit Khazhakyan, a member of the Yerevan City Council from the Luys faction.
