Armenian weightlifters win gold, silver at European Championships

Armenian athletes took gold and silver at the 2022 European Weightlifting Championships being held in Tirana, Albania.

Competing in the 96 kg weight class, Davit Hovhannisyan lifted a total of 377 kg to be crowned European champion on Friday.

Ara Aghanyan won the silver medal with a combined total of 375 kg.

Armenian weightlifter Rafik Harutyunyan (81 kg) won gold earlier this week.
