Armenia's SRC thwarts attempts to smuggle cigarettes from Iran

The State Revenue Committee (SRC) of Armenia says its employees have thwarted attempts to smuggle several batches of cigarettes from Iran.

In a statement on Tuesday, the SRC said 383,000 units (19,150 packs) of smuggled cigarettes were discovered by customs officers at the Meghri border checkpoint on the Armenian-Iranian border recently.

A probe is underway.
