Governor: Azeri forces can be seen 'with the naked eye' from Jermuk

Some of the Azerbaijani troops who invaded Armenia in mid-September can be easily seen “with the naked eye” from the spa town of Jermuk in Vayots Dzor Province, its Governor Ararat Grigoryan told reporters on Monday.

“I cannot provide any other details, anyway Azerbaijanis can be seen with the naked eye in the area visible from Jermuk,” the official said.

He insisted that some of the Azerbaijani invaders remain near the town, referring to the army chief’s statement that an Azeri group that advanced towards Jermuk during the September 13-14 aggression has pulled out of the area.

“It naturally raises concerns, but the additional measures to enhance the defense capability, the deployment of additional forces and public awareness allow us to state that we will give an adequate response if an incident is recorded,” the governor said.

In Grigoryan’s words, life has returned to normal in the town and many foreign embassies have removed security alerts over visits to Jermuk from their websites.
