MEP: Azerbaijan must urgently allow uninterrupted movement of civilians in Lachin

Member of the European Parliament Viola von Cramon has called on Azerbaijan to urgently allow unhindered movement of civilians in the Lachin Corridor, the sole road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh (Artsakh) to Armenia.

In a tweet on the Armenian Christmas celebrated on January 6, she expressed solidarity with the people blockaded in Artsakh.

“My heart goes out to those 100K people blockaded in Nagorno-Karabakh. They are facing food & medicine shortages. Government of Azerbaijan & their proxies must urgently allow uninterrupted movement of civilians in Lachin,” the MEP wrote.

For more than three weeks, large groups of Azerbaijanis posing as eco-activists have blocked the corridor to protest what they claim is illegal mining.
