Armenia's judicial watchdog dismisses judge Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan

The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) overseeing Armenian courts has dismissed judge Zaruhi Nakhshkaryan of a Yerevan first instance court for a disciplinary violation, granting Minister of Justice Grigor Minasyan’s request.

SJC member Naira Hovsepian announced the judge’s dismissal at a meeting of the judicial watchdog on Monday.

The move comes after Nakhshkaryan defended judge Anna Pilosyan and publicly questioned the SJC decision to dismiss her in December last year.
