Armenian wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan wins European gold

Armenian freestyle wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan has earned a gold medal at the European Wrestling Championships being held in Zagreb, Croatia.

The athlete won the European title after defeating his Bulgarian opponent Mikyay Salim Naim 12:1 in the 65 kg final on Tuesday.

Tevanyan had beat Azerbaijan’s Ali Ragimzade 4:1 and Erik Arushanyan of Ukraine 12:4 In the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.
