Former Artsakh security chief arrested

Retired general Vitaly Balasanyan, the former chief of Artsakh’s Security Council, has been arrested.

He was taken to the National Security Service after law enforcement officers raided his home in Askeran for 40 minutes late on Thursday, Aravot.am said.

His son and nephew were also arrested following the search.

Citing some sources in Artsakh, InfoPort.am reports that Balasanyan is accused of large-scale money laundering.
