Former Artsakh security chief's arrest challenged in court

The arrest of retired Artsakh general Vitaly Balasanyan, the former chief of the Artsakh Security Council, has been challenged in court, his lawyer Rafayel Martirosyan said on Friday.

The court hearing was set for 1pm.

Balasanyan was arrested after law enforcement officers raided his home in Askeran for 40 minutes late on Thursday.

Citing its sources in Artsakh, InfoPort.am reports that Balasanyan is accused of large-scale money laundering.
