ICRC helps transfer 9 patients from blockade-hit Artsakh to Armenia

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has facilitated the transfer of 9 severely ill patients from blockaded Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) to Armenia, the Artsakh Ministry of Health reported.

The patients were transported to specialized medical facilities in Armenia along with their attendants on Tuesday, the ministry said in a statement.

Two other patients, who have completed treatment in Armenia, are expected to return home later on Tuesday.

24 children are undergoing treatment in the Arevik Medical Center. 7 of them are in neonatal and intensive care.

90 adult patients, including one critically ill, are in the Republican Medical Center.

The people of Artsakh have been living under Azerbaijan's unlawful blockade for around nine months now.
