Armenian government to ban whitefish caviar exports from January

The Armenian government decided on Thursday to impose a ban on exports of whitefish caviar from the country.

The ban will come into force on 2 January 2024 and will be effective for six months.

The Armenian government decision aims to restore the ecological balance of Lake Sevan, preserve the biodiversity of the lake's ecosystems and its watershed, as well as to ensure sustainable use of biological resources and industrial fishing.
