Two opposition members retain seats in Yerevan City Council

Opposition Mother Armenia faction members Gevorg Stepanyan and Zaruhi Postanjyan were not stripped of their seats in the Yerevan City Council at its special sitting on Wednesday.

The councilors survived a no-confidence vote initiated by the ruling Civil Contract faction.

Earlier on Monday, the Civil Contract councilors and two members of the Public Voice faction voted to oust opposition members Hayk Marutyan, a former Yerevan mayor, Narine Hayrapetyan and Sona Aghekyan.
