Armenian weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan wins bronze at European Championships

Armenian weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan has clinched a bronze medal at the European Championships in Sofia.

Khurshudyan came third in the women’s 87kg with a total lift of 227kg (105+122) on Monday night. The athlete also won the snatch bronze medal.

The 36-year-old took off her sneakers after the last attempt, kissed the barbell and thanked her fans, hinting at retirement.

Armenia's Tatev Hakobyan finished fourth in the same weight class.
