Azeris destroy sculptures in Artsakh capital

Azerbaijan continues intentional destruction of Armenian cultural heritage in the occupied Artsakh Republic (Nagorno-Karabakh), warns Cultural Ombudsman of Hayk Hovik Avanesov.

"We record numerous acts of cultural genocide committed by Azerbaijan in occupied Artsakh on a daily basis. Mkhitar Karapetyan, a partner of the Cultural Ombudsman of Hayk NGO, has warned that traces of vandalism are visible in a video shared by Azerbaijani occupants from Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh,” he wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

“It’s about a video posted by Elmin Bayramli on YouTube on 13 February 2024. The examination of the video has confirmed that the sculptures installed on Andranik Street in Stepanakert became another victim of Azerbaijan's cultural genocide.

“All this is yet another evidence that Azerbaijan is destroying Artsakh’s cultural heritage at the state level,” Avanesov stated.
