Armenian boxer Gurgen Madoyan wins first bout at Olympic qualification event

Armenian boxer Gurgen Madoyan (71 kg) has celebrated victory at the start of the 1st World Qualification Tournament, the first global boxing qualifier for the 2024 Paris Olympics being held in Busto Arsizio, Italy.

The athlete won his first bout against Vasile Cebotari of Moldova on Tuesday, the Boxing Federation of Armenia reported.

Two other Armenian boxers, Rudolf Garboyan and David Chaloyan, will be making their first appearances at the tournament on Wednesday.
