MP Levon Kocharyan's aide placed under house arrest

The Yerevan Court of Appeals on Thursday granted a defense motion to release Artur Sukoyan, opposition MP Levon Kocharyan’s aide, from pre-trial custody and place him under house arrest, his lawyers reported.

Sukoyan was arrested on charges of assaulting Civic.am reporter Davit Levonyan in late April.

A first instance court in Yerevan ordered two-month pretrial detention for him in early May.
