Polls open in Iran presidential election runoff

Iranians are voting today in a presidential runoff pitting centrist Masoud Pezeshkian against hardline conservative Saeed Jalili.

In last week's first round, Pezeshkian won the largest number of ballots, around 42 percent, while Jalili came in second place with 39 percent, according to figures from Iran's elections authority.

Polling stations opened across Iran at 8 a.m. local time.

Iranian citizens in Armenia can cast their ballots at three polling stations, including at Yerevan’s Blue Mosque, the Iranian Embassy and the Consulate General of Iran in the town of Kapan.
