Armenian national anthem performed live at start of parliament session

The eighth session of the Armenian National Assembly of the eighth convocation kicked off on Monday after 84 lawmakers registered to ensure a quorum.

The country’s national anthem was performed live at the start of the session.

Speaker Alen Simonyan named Armenuhi Ghazaryan as replacement of former Civil Contract faction MP Gurgen Arsenyan and she was sworn in to the parliament.

Arsenyan resigned his parliament seat to be appointed Armenia’s ambassador to Russia in August.
