Police clash with protesters outside Armenian government

A clash erupted between police officers and protesters outside the Armenian government building in central Yerevan on Thursday, with several detained.

The police formed a barricade to block their access to the building entrance.

The protesters, mainly retail traders, demanded that the government repeal the tax hikes effective from January 1.

They staged a similar protest last week.
