Four Yerevan officials remanded in custody

A court in Yerevan has ordered four current and former officials from Yerevan’s municipal administration to be remanded in custody, approving a request from the Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC).

They were among eight persons arrested on Wednesday in a bribery investigation conducted by the ACC.

The detainees included Aram Gyulzadyan, head of the Yerevan Municipality’s Public Order Service, Robert Darbinyan, former head of the Department of Urban Planning and Land Control, Mikayel Ghimoyan, head of the second territorial division of the same department, and Aram Ayvazyan, former deputy head of the Department of Urban Planning and Land Control.
