ARF to join Gyumri election race, leader says

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) will participate in the municipal elections in Gyumri, Armenia's second largest city, opposition MP and ARF Armenia Supreme Body member Ishkhan Saghatelyan announced on Wednesday.

"As for the format, we will announce it later," Saghatelyan told reporters.

He stressed the need for a broad opposition front to achieve tangible results, adding that an official statement will follow.

Referring to the 2026 parliamentary elections, Saghatelyan said it was too early to discuss whether the ARF will run independently or in an alliance. "A lot will have changed by then, and we will decide based on the situation," he noted.

The Gyumri municipal elections are slated for March 30.
