Senior European officials urged to take immediate action on Armenian prisoners in Baku

Lawmakers from the opposition Hayastan faction in the Armenian parliament are using all their ties and available mechanisms on a daily basis to restore the blatantly violated rights of Artsakh’s military and political leadership, as well as Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan, and to secure their release as soon as possible, Hayastan leader Seyran Ohanyan reported.

Letters have been addressed to Pia Kauma, President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Human Rights Rapporteur Carina Ödebrink and Luís Graça, OSCE PA Vice-President and Special Representative on the South Caucasus, demanding urgent measures to address the situation.

The letters call for the setup of a fact-finding mission to monitor the trials of Armenian POWs and Artsakh’s military and political leaders in Baku.
