Armenian prisoners' lives at risk in Azerbaijan, MP warns

During an ongoing show trial in Baku, former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan refused to answer any questions from Azerbaijani prosecutors, opposition lawmaker Tigran Abrahamyan said.

"This is logical as Vardanyan previously revealed he had only been interrogated once during the preliminary investigation. After refusing to provide testimony, false statements were attributed to him. This is a sham and politically motivated trial based on fabricated testimonies," the Pativ Unem faction MP wrote on Facebook on Thursday.

"The lives of Armenians imprisoned in Azerbaijan are at risk. Their physical exhaustion is evident even in photos and videos. Not to mention that they are being held in a terrorist country where the law of the jungle prevails," he added.
