Ruben Vardanyan's sham trial resumes in Azerbaijan

The Baku Military Court resumed the sham trial of former Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan on Tuesday.

According to Azerbaijani media reports, a witness who testified at the hearing stated that Vardanyan arrived in Stepanakert shortly after the 44-day war but was unsure whether he had come from Russia or “elsewhere”.

Vardanyan has been on a hunger strike since February 18 in protest against the Azerbaijani judicial farce. He is facing fabricated charges of war crimes, terrorism, financing terrorism and other false accusations.

His show trial began in Baku on January 17.
