Mane Tandilyan ends hunger strike in central Yerevan

Mane Tandilyan, co-founder of the Country to Live party, has announced an end to her hunger strike in Yerevan's Liberty Square.

She launched the strike on 1 March to express support for Ruben Vardanyan and other Armenian prisoners held in Azerbaijan. Two others joined the protest later.

Tandilyan told reporters on Wednesday that she decided to end the strike after speaking with Vardanyan’s family members.

“We promised them that we would stop the hunger strike,” she stated.

The politician announced a protest outside the UN office in Yerevan on Friday.
