German president to visit Armenia and Azerbaijan

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his spouse Elke Büdenbender will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan from 30 March to 2 April, the presidential office reported.

It will be the first time that a federal president has visited either country.

"In Armenia, the Federal President will meet with President Vahagn Khachaturyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for talks in Yerevan. He will also visit the TUMO technology education centre and attend a cultural reception. On his second day in Armenia, the Federal President will travel to Dilijan. He will talk to Armenian women entrepreneurs and visit an urban development project there. At Lake Sevan, he will visit an Armenian church and a hydrometeorology and monitoring centre that is run in partnership with the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research," the office said.

During his visit to Azerbaijan, Steinmeier will meet with President Ilham Aliyev.
