The co-founders of the Country of Living party, Mane Tandilyan and Mesrop Arakelyan, as well as other people staged a protest outside the Armenian government building on Thursday, demanding the release of Armenian prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees held in Azerbaijan.
During the protest, a regular session was taking place inside the government building.
"The authorities continue their brazen behavior, claiming they are doing everything possible to secure the release of Armenian prisoners, but we all know they are taking no steps," Tandilyan told reporters.
“Through today's protest, we want to remind them of what needs to be done but isn’t being done, not to mention the actions they are taking that actually hinder the return of the prisoners," she added.
Tandilyan emphasized that the government tends to neglect the prisoner issue, adding that they will work to keep it on the agenda through various events.
