Serzh Sargsyan: 'No one's ghost troubles me; mine is a shadow, theirs is a ghost'

At the Komitas Pantheon in Yerevan, Armenia’s third President Serzh Sargsyan paid tribute to Andranik Margaryan, the late prime minister and former chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), on his 18th death anniversary on Tuesday. He was joined by fellow party members and Margaryan's family.

Margaryan served as Armenia’s prime minister from 2000 to 2007.

Speaking to reporters at the commemoration, Sargsyan was asked about the realization of Margaryan’s vision.

"It’s a difficult question," he said. 

When asked why people are still fighting his "shadow," the ex-president remarked, "Am I really the one who should answer it? That question should be addressed to those people. In any case, no one's ghost troubles me; mine is a shadow, theirs is a ghost."
