Gyumri mayoral candidate's father and son moved to Anti-Corruption Committee after arrest
The father and son of Martun Grigoryan, the mayoral candidate of the Our City bloc in Gyumri's upcoming elections, have been arrested and transferred to the Anti-Corruption Committee in Yerevan.
Their detention follows a series of searches at the campaign offices of the opposition Mother Armenia and Our City alliances, as well as the homes of their candidates.
According to lawyer Arsen Babayan, the Anti-Corruption Committee has provided only vague accusations without specifying concrete evidence. The suspects face a 24-hour arrest period before a court hearing on possible pre-trial detention.
