UN official responds to Mane Tandilyan's letter on Armenian prisoners
Mane Tandilyan, co-founder of the Country of Living party, reports that they have received a response from UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Françoise Jacob regarding the letter sent during a protest outside the UN office in Yerevan on March 14.
In a social media post on Friday, she said the concerns and messages of the protesters have been conveyed to the relevant UN agencies, including the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and the UN Secretariat.
"In response, we have requested a meeting with UN Resident Coordinator Françoise Jacob to discuss the progress on the issues we raised," Tandilyan wrote.
"As a reminder, we are demanding an urgent visit by the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan to Armenian prisoners held in Baku and their presence at the sham trials against them," she added.
