Armenia gears up for largest-ever appearance at Para Powerlifting World Cup

From May 8 to 12, Tbilisi will host the 2025 Para Powerlifting World Cup, where Armenia will compete with its largest-ever team. A total of eight athletes will participate in the 49kg, 59kg, 65kg, 72kg, 79kg and 88kg weight categories, the Armenian National Paralympic Committee reports.

On May 12, Armenia will also take part in the team competition with three squads, featuring two men’s teams and one mixed team.

"This championship is crucial for our team, as five of our athletes will undergo sports classification, and for three of them, this will mark their international debut," the committee said on Friday.

"Our team is highly motivated and ready to compete for top positions. At least three of our athletes can set new European records if they match the national records," it added.
