Armenian Defense Ministry issues warning over suspicious Telegram channels

The Armenian Defense Ministry has issued a warning over several increasingly active Telegram channels of unknown origin.

“While these channels post in Armenian, there are reasonable suspicion and some reports suggesting that they may have been created abroad,” its spokesperson Aram Torosyan said in a statement on Saturday.

He urged media outlets to refrain from citing, republishing and disseminating information from such sources.

“When it comes to the army, military positions or any defense-related matters, we strongly urge you to verify the reports with the relevant departments of the Defense Ministry prior to publication,” Torosyan added.
