Armenian Foreign Ministry responds to Baku's demands

The Armenian Foreign Ministry has responded to the media inquiry on Azerbaijan's demands to provide minefield maps.

"Emphasizing the importance of addressing humanitarian issues, on June 12, July 3, October 19, November 1 and November 29, 2021 Armenia unilaterally provided Azerbaijan with 972 registries of minefields without preconditions. Moreover, remaining committed to the principles of cooperation on humanitarian issues, Armenia compiled through inquiries and transferred new minefield registries to Azerbaijan in early 2024," its spokesperson, Ani Badalyan, posted on X on Wednesday.

"Azerbaijan continuously questions the accuracy of these maps, despite our repeated statements that there are no "better or more accurate" maps. Armenia, both previously and now, is ready to verify the accuracy of these maps with the involvement of int’l experts.

"We would like to add that the International Court of Justice (ICJ) unequivocally rejected the request to apply a provisional measure against Armenia, in which Azerbaijan had accused Armenia of mining activities," she added.
