European Wrestling Championships: Armenia's Artur Aleksanyan advances to quarterfinals

The European Wrestling Championships are underway in Bratislava, Slovakia.

Armenia's Artur Aleksanyan (97 kg) defeated Richard Karelson of Estonia 5-1 in the round of 16 to advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday.

Karapet Manvelyan (60 kg) lost his opening match 0-6, while Shant Khachatryan (72 kg) started strong but fell 6-10 despite an early lead. Slavik Galstyan (67 kg) won his first bout and also reached the quarterfinals.
