Armenian MP: Azerbaijan opens cross-border fire at a fixed time every day

Azerbaijani forces are opening cross-border fire at a fixed time every night, claims Davit Danielyan, an MP from Armenia’s ruling Civil Contract party.

“Every night at exactly 10 p.m. or 10:30 p.m., they start firing indiscriminately across various border sections not in a targeted manner. I assume they’re mostly firing into the air,” Danielyan told reporters at the National Assembly on Monday.

He suggested that the shootings are intended to create a climate of fear, undermine the peace process and potentially influence Armenia’s internal political dynamics.

“As someone from Syunik, I greatly value peace, genuine peace,” Danielyan emphasized.

His remarks came after Azerbaijani troops opened fire towards the village of Khnatsakh in Armenia’s Syunik Province on Sunday. The gunfire damaged the village’s cultural center.
